TextIndexer information manager interface
TextIndexer is use two-pane interface. The left panel, called the tree, contains
headings for the notes. It arranged in a hierarchical. Each heading or item in the
selector corresponds to a document window that is displayed in the larger right hand panel
of the program's display.
The right pane, the 'article' can contain texts, links, pictures etc. The article is
similar to a Word Processor or Internet explorer window. The left pane, the tree, can
contain a large number of 'nodes'. 'Nodes' are similar to leaf of physical trees in the
real world.
The information they contain can come in almost any digital form - documents,
spreadsheets, databases, grids, forms, graphics, photos, Web pages, emails, posts from
newsgroups, scanned images. The right pane of the screen is the information itself - the
note. (The area is the "workspace" because that is where the displayed note is
edited.)
A node can contain an article, a text. When you select a node (in the left pane), the
text inside that node is displayed in the article (right pane).
If you press the little "+" of a tree node, the 'sub tree' of that node is
shown. This sub tree also consists of nodes. Nodes cannot only contain texts, but also
other nodes.
If you click on a node, you select that node, and the text inside that node will be
displayed in the article in the right pane. If you click on a '+' of a node, the sub tree
of that node will be shown. If you click on a 'dell' of a node, the sub tree of that node
will be deleted.
Tree nodes can be easily moved around, deleted, inserted, edited. Articles can be
edited in exactly the same way as in a standard word processing program. Also you can edit
the text using external text editor.
TextIndexer is very easy to use and conforms to Windows standards; actions like moving,
deleting and adding nodes, editing texts are explained in full detail below.
If you have an idea on how to use TextIndexer, you can start the program and press
"?" button.
