Speed reading software

"Reading without vowel letters"

How the speed reading program works:

  • Click on the "Open" button and select the text for training.
  • Click on the "Dell vowel letters" button and the program will remove all the vowels from the text.
  • For viewing the source text, click on the "Prompt" button.
  • For saving text, click on the "Save" button.

This exercises demonstrate how the brain functions. Usually, words are not read letter by letter. The reader recognizes whole words. The absence of vowels in most cases does not reduce the understanding of the text. A look at the word (the word-combination) is enough in order to recognize it.

The essence of these software exercises

Approximately 75% of the information of any text is surplus to requirements. See for yourself. Delete all the vowels from this text. Try to read it. Was it successful? The Ancient Greeks and the present-day Arabs do not use vowels.

By reading all of the letters in a word, you are slowing you reading speed.

Four portions of useful information contain one portion of garbage.

I gss you cn rd ths txt :) wtht vwls. I guess you can read this text :) without vowels.

I guess also you understand the essence of the text if you read with one quick glance. In other ways you need to solve the puzzle

  • I - I
  • Gss - gassy, guess, gauss
  • You - you
  • Cn - con, can, icon
  • Rd - read, red, oared
  • Ths - this
  • Txt - text, :

Only by trying to read this text as a whole hieroglyph can help you understand the meaning of it. By not reading each letter, word, or sentence of a text, your speed-reading will improve.

Whilst doing these exercises try to understand how you read. How does the information appear? How do your eyes move?

Speed reading tips

Read the introduction and conclusion, then go back and read the whole assignment. Or read the first line in every paragraph in order to get an impression of how the ideas progress, then go back and read from the beginning.

Look through the entire book at a slower rate. Look for structure and organization as well as key concepts. Often, the best way to extract key concepts is by recognizing repeated phrases, graphics, and typefaces. Once you finish previewing, write a quick summary of the book, not to exceed half a page. This helps to solidify the thesis and support the evidence in your mind. Sometimes a book can be left at this stage, or specific chapters may be reviewed in depth, while the rest is left untouched.

When done effectively, previewing is short and sweet. During that time, we clarify and refine our purpose, review the trigger words, and decide whether to continue reading or call it quits. If we choose not to read something that does not meet our needs or interests, it is all right.

Understanding the structure gives us something that learning theorists call a schema, a set of expectations about what is coming up next. When we know the structure of a written text, we become more accurate at predicting its content. As a result, our comprehension and reading pleasure soar. Previewing gives us the skeleton of a book or article first. During the next steps of the photo reading the whole mind system, we add body to the skeleton.
